Doing Well :)

Thomas is doing amazingly well.  To see him you would not know that he recently had a serious injury.  It is wonderful to see him enjoying his work and play, to listen to his chatter, which is pretty much non-stop, and to watch him eat and eat.  He is always saying he is hungry and asking for something to eat. Having not kept much down for a week he has a bit of catching up to do.  Surprisingly, he doesn't need to nap.  We were making him go for one in the afternoons, only to find that when we checked on him before we went to bed at 10:30 he would still be awake - and hungry. :) So naps are out unless he looks like he needs one.  He has had the occasional headache which Tylenol seems to take care of.  But in the last couple of days he hasn't even needed that.  It all seems too good to be true.   It could have turned out so differently.  We are just so thankful to God for answering the prayers of so many.

Ending beans on the porch. ~Many hands make light work.~

We are keeping a good eye on him, though, to prevent anything more happening to his precious little head, especially while he heals.  He knows that there are a few new rules and when he wants to go outside he calls out in a loud sing-song voice, "I want to go outside and someone has to come with me!"

Last night Gerald and I went for a walk and came home with a kitty.  We've been pet-free for about a year - and it was a nice break - but we felt it was time for the kids to enjoy pets again.  The kids were thrilled to meet this guy...

This is Cyrus, a large male kitten that had gotten 'dropped off' near the neighbours' place and had been joining their cats at dinner time.  Since they didn't want another cat, and since we had decided to get one, bringing him home seemed like the right thing to do. He's quite tame and purrs very loudly.  Thus his name.  Get it?

You know, Cyrus the king of Purrsia?

We know.  It's lame.  It came up as a joke, but the name is sticking.  So Cyrus it is.

haha, I totally wasn't getting it until you explained! Is this an outdoor pet then? Our kids want a pet so badly, but Tim has banned them forever from our house after a bad experience when we were first married.
I'm so glad to hear how well Thomas is doing! Praise God!
