He's Home! :)

Yesterday he had a pretty good day and was able to keep food and fluids down.  His doctor was up on the ward around supper time, so the nurses asked her to see Thomas.  She was satisfied that he was stable and ready to go home.  We felt it would be easier to take him home in the evening when he typically feels well,  than in the morning when he tends to be 'down.'  So, we brought him home last night!  Wow, it sure feels good to be here again, and to have him well enough to be here.

Thomas' pain has decreased so much that he now only gets Tylenol when he needs it.  Yesterday he only needed one dose!  That is so amazing, it's hard to believe.

We expected him to feel unwell this morning, but he's been doing great.  We're enforcing some rest times to prevent him from overdoing it but he says he's getting tired of resting.  He just wants to play. He received so many toys and treats that he's eager to try them all out.

What a blessing it is to see him feeling so well and wanting to play.  We have so much to be thankful for.  We had excellent care from his doctors and nurses.  And the love and support shown over this past week by family and friends has been overwhelming! Thank you! He is doing amazingly well.  And, little as he is, he knows that he is in God's hands and that he can go to Him in his time of need and He will hear and help.

We do have to be extra careful over the next couple of months.  We don't need to coddle him, just make sure that he doesn't do anything that would put him at risk of another head injury.  The doctor does not expect any long-term effects.  We have to make an appointment to see her in 4-6 weeks.

During our hospital stay we read Psalm 34 several times.  God used that Psalm to strengthen and encourage us in so many ways.

"Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.  I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears." Psalm 34:3,4

Again, thank you so much for your many kindnesses and caring words, and for your prayers which surely were heard.

Love,

Awww. He looks so good. It was so sad to see him on some of those hospital pictures. We praise God with you for his increased health and that you can all be home together.

We stand in awe with you at God's mercy in this. We too are glad that your stay at the hospital was not a drawn out affair.
