Preparations

Excitement is mounting. The work is almost done.


The guest room is ready,




The house is clean (cleaner than it was, anyways),


Bathrooms are stocked, :)



Eight dozen chocolate chip cookies are baked (find the recipe here),

The soup is on,

And for supper tonight,

Stew:

• 10 lbs of potatoes
• 4 lbs of carrots
• 1 bunch of celery
• 8 onions
• 6 lbs of stewing beef
• various herbs, garlic and spices

To be served with a salad, 2 dozen dinner rolls and 1 dozen corn muffins.

I hope it's enough.

We're expecting some friends, a family of 7, to arrive soon and stay for the weekend.

More people means:

• more work (gladly done)
• more food (happily prepared and served)
• more noise (mostly laughter)
• more fun (it just happens)
• great memories
